LEGNO –
Perception Shapes Communication

Developed as a functional, self-built 1:1 scale model, LEGNO explores how perception influences communication in public space. At its core lies the idea of a "center location" – a spatial concept that encourages people to consciously observe, interact, and even manipulate their surroundings. The design gives users the freedom to choose their level of engagement. Actions like sitting position or viewing angle directly affect how one perceives the environment – and how one is perceived. Every decision becomes a reflection of the self. As a response to rigid, emotionless urban spaces, LEGNO offers a retreat into nature-inspired form and atmosphere. It creates space for both active interaction and quiet withdrawal – without prescribing either.

Beyond design and concept, the project also focused on full-scale realization, time and resource planning, and hands-on implementation.
